Evaluation report concludes Nureva’s audio conferencing system delivers compelling combination of cost-effectiveness, ease of use and audio performance
Orlando, Florida --- June 13, 2017 --- Nureva Inc., an award-winning collaboration-solutions company, announces the results from a Wainhouse Research report on the Nureva® HDL300 audio conferencing system. In May 2017, Wainhouse conducted hands-on testing of the system running a range of popular UC&C applications. The system was evaluated for ease of installation, automatic calibration, connecting to the host PC and various aspects of audio call quality. In its report, Wainhouse concluded that the HDL300 system brings a compelling combination of cost-effectiveness, ease of use and strong audio performance.
The HDL300 system uses Nureva’s innovative Microphone MistTM technology to place 8,192 virtual microphones throughout a meeting room to pick up sound from any location. Enabled by real-time hardware, the system uses sophisticated algorithms to simultaneously process sound from all the virtual microphones to provide remote participants with a high-quality listening experience. All participants can be heard clearly regardless of where they are in the room or the directions they are facing. The HDL300 system is optimized for small to mid-sized meeting and collaboration spaces, and is designed to work with Skype® for Business, Zoom, Blue Jeans, Cisco® Spark, Cisco Webex®, GoToMeetingTM, Pexip Infinity Connect and other common UC&C applications.
“We’ve often said that ease of use and simplicity trumps performance every time, but with the HDL300 system users don’t have to choose as the system does very well in both areas,” said Ira Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research. “Overall, the HDL300 system met – and in many ways exceeded – our expectations. Given our team’s 50+ years of combined audio engineering experience, that is no easy task.”
“Results from the Wainhouse evaluation confirm that the HDL300 system is a unique, high performing audio conferencing offering,” said Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO. “It is particularly exciting to have the system recognized for its advantages in the areas of audio pickup, installation, deployment and ease of use.”
The following highlights from the report describe the results from test calls that were conducted using the HDL300 system.
Microphone pick-up and performance – the HDL300 system’s integrated mic array provided excellent coverage throughout the meeting room. Regardless of the person’s location (e.g., standing in the corner of the room facing away from the mic, or moving around the room while speaking), the mic array successfully picked up and transmitted the speech to audio to the far end.
Noise reduction – the HDL300 system did an excellent job of rejecting off-axis noise.
Incoming sound quality – the HDL300 system’s integrated speakers performed well during testing, providing a more than adequate volume and solid incoming audio quality.
Full duplex support – the HDL300 system passed the full duplex audio test with flying colors, supporting both incoming and outgoing audio simultaneously.
The report states, in all cases, that the HDL300 system performed extremely well, offering a combination of strong microphone pickup (thanks to the system’s integrated mic array), powerful off-axis noise reduction, solid incoming audio quality, and full-duplex support.
